OHF BOARD OF GOVERNORS

Members of the OHF Board of Governors serve on a volunteer basis. Governors are selected on the basis of experience, skills, knowledge, and ability to serve. Individuals who are interested in serving on the Board of Governors may contact us to request an application.

Governor Iris Firemoon, Chair

Iris Firemoon was voted onto the OHF Board of Governors in March of 2010. She is responsible for website maintenance, membership and sponsorship relations, as well as organizing the Northern Virginia Pagans' Night Out. Iris holds a degree in telecommunications, and she currently works as a broadcast technician for a local television station. Iris is the founder of The Firefly House, focusing on nature-based spirituality, and an active member of a local electic coven.

 
Governor Maria Aquila, Vice Chair

Maria is responsible for membership, marketing, and public relations for the OHF. She is an eclectic solitary pagan who studies and practices ritual magic in the Western Mystery Tradition. Currently, she works in marketing and business development focusing on marketing communications and customer relationship management. She also is an editor for Datura Press, publishers of An Anthology of Occult Wisdom by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. Maria joined the OHF as a trustee in March of 2009 to manage communications and donor relations, and has been a board member since September 2009.  She earned a Master of Science in Marketing from the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins Univeristy and Bachelor of Science degree from the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

 
Governor Pam Firemane, Treasurer

Pamela Firemane considers herself a solitary eclectic pagan focusing on Druidism. She is a Bardic member Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids based in England.  She is also a level one Reiki practioner. Pamela holds an associates degree in General Studies with a business emphasis and has a background in accounting, Non- profit organizations, and event planning.  She also brings with her 20 years of activism and experience in the local equestrian community including being a past VP of a large equestrian non-profit and organizer for intercollegiate riding groups.  She is excited to be able to bring her experience to OHF and to give back to our local pagan community.

 
Governor Anura Rose, Secretary

Anura Rose joined the OHF Board of Governors in November 2010. She is a solitary practitioner currently living in the Washington D.C. Metro area. Anura’s spiritual interests are in green witchcraft, Slavic paganism and mythology. She is also interested in understanding how nature based religions can shape current environmental practices. Anura aims to utilize her academic background in environmental sciences and global politics along with her management skills to help further the mission of the OHF.

David Salisbury joined the OHF as a PNO trustee in 2010. David works in Online Strategy at the Human Rights Campaign, the world's largest LGBT civil rights organization. He was a campaigner at an animal rights organization for three years before that and brings a mixture of both activism PR and grassroots marketing experience to the board. David comes from both a Reclaiming and Cabot Tradition background growing up around North Carolina. He is wrapping up work on his first book, which focuses on Witchcraft as a daily practice.
