Library Trustee - Eric Eldritch

The Pagan Lending Library at the DC Pagan Community Center is a collection of approximately 4,000 books. The books have been collected by the Open Hearth Foundation for more than 10 years. In November, the books were moved from various storage places (homes of current and former OHF governors) and brought to the community center. As of January 1st, the library committee has cataloged approximately 1,700 volumes into a very profressional library management software called Koha. The library committee is currently working on addressing the needs of the library, such as which books do we put on shelves, which are appropriate to keep in storage, and which books we need to sell or get rid of. The library committee is also creating policies on the lending of books, their care, and trying to set up the Open Hearth Foundation to have a lasting and useful resource.
In the very near future, you will be able to browse the collection online and books will be able to be checked out and in of the library. But, only members will have the ability to check books out of the library, so make a point to sign up as a member.
The library committee meets regularly, and there's certainly still enough time and work to get involved with this project. To get involved with the OHF Pagan lending library, email Eldritch (eldritch @ openhearth.org).
