The Open Hearth Foundation is located
on the corner of 15th St
and Massachusetts Ave. SE. It is accessible via the 96 bus, and the Potomac Ave, Eastern Market, and Stadium Armory metro stops on the Blue and Orange lines.
Parking: Street parking. We have been very happy with the accessibility with street parking in this neighborhood. There are always street spots on the same block without parking meters. However, some of the major streets, such as Massachusetts Ave SE have restrictions on parking during stadium events. The DC United schedule is available here: http://www.dcunited.com/schedule
Bus: The 96 bus line runs to and from Northwest and drops folks off right in front of the center.
Metro: Orange and Blue lines. Eastern Market Metro stop is a 7 block walk, Potomac Ave metro stop is 6 blocks, and the Stadium/Armory stop is 4 blocks.
Stadium/Armory Metro: A 4-block walk to the community center, the quickest and best route is by leaving the station opposite Independence Ave. Go south on 19th Street, make the first right on C Street, and then the first right on Massachusetts Ave. The building is 2.5 blocks up on the right.
Potomac Ave Metro: A 6-block walk to the community center, the Potomac Ave stop is a straight shot and will take folks by a very nice Safeway.
Eastern Market Metro: A 7-block walk to the community center, Eastern Market offers a nice walk through a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shops available.
From 395 North: continue onto Southeast/Southwest Freeway. Follow signs to the left for the DC United Stadium (most traffic will exit onto Penn Ave, but not you). Circle around the up ramp to a stop sign, where you make a right onto 17th Street. Make a left at Potomac Ave, and then take the first right onto 16th Street. Then, take a left at Massachusetts Ave. Building is on your right at the stop light.
From 295 South: take the East Capitol Street Exit, continue onto C Street SE, make a left at 17th Street SE, and then a right at Massachusetts Ave SE. Building is on your right at the stop light.
From 295 North: Take the Pennsylvania Ave W exit. Make a right onto Potomac Ave. Take a left onto 16th Street. Make a left onto Massachusetts Ave. The building will be on the right.
