In April, Persephone's Masquerade heralds the coming of Spring with feasting, dancing, and a silent and live auction. A regional tradition since 1999, Each month the OHf organizes Pagan's Night Out in Northern Virginia. This social gatherings are a great place to meet new friends and get to know the local Pagan community. There is no cost to attend (except what you spend on dinner). OPEN BOARD MEETING In July the Board of Governors of the Open Hearth Foundation invites the community to attend the annual Open Board Meeting. NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION PAGAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE February 26 - 8, 2010 Hilton Arlington Hotel 950 North Stafford Street, Arlington, VA In February, the OHf sponsors the Pagan Leadership Conference of the National Capital Region. This conference brings together leaders of area Pagan groups and organizations for two days of workshops and discussions that address the needs and concerns of the Pagan community. In late summer,the OHF teams with the Washington, DC Radical Faeries, Carolina Spiritquest of Durham, North Carolina, and Spiralground of Richmond, Virginia produce the National Pagan Leadership Skills Conference. This event have brings current and future Pagan leaders with experts in a wide range of practical organizational issues such as accounting, board development, public relations, and meeting facilitation. The conference provides valuable, real-world knowledge of how to meet the challenges faced by Pagan groupss and Pagan community organizations. SAMHAIN DRUMMING AT THE JEFFERSON MEMORIAL In October, the OHF teams up with Ecumenicon Fellowship to produced Samhain Drumming at the Jefferson Memorial. This interpath ritual and professionally-led drum circle has become a DC Pagan community tradition. Check back for the 2010 date and time!
In September, the OHF participates in area Pagan Pride Days. The OHF started this area tradition when we produced the first DC Pagan Pride Day in 2000. Since that time this "Pagan Community Center for a Day" has grown and thrived with the support of area Pagans, vendors and businesses. Beginning in 2009, the area Pagan Pride Days will be organized and produced by individuals and groups from throughout the region.
